North Yorkshire Police is appealing for witnesses and information about an affray and criminal damage that occurred in Northallerton.

It happened on Ashlands Road, Northallerton at approximately 11.15pm on Friday 3 July 2020 when two people in their 20s, who had been sitting in a parked car, were approached by a group of people in a small white van.

The driver of the car was attacked with a hammer sustaining injuries to his face, neck and back but did not require hospital treatment. The front passenger window of his vehicle was also smashed during the incident.

At around 1am on Saturday 4 July, further damage was caused to the victim’s vehicle whereby the rear passenger window was also smashed.

Two men aged 24 and 21 years-old, and two woman aged 19 and 23 years-old were arrested on suspicion of affray and criminal damage and and have been released under investigation.
