An initiative that is ‘warming up’ Hambleton homes has been extended to bring even more households into the scheme.

Launched in November 2019, it has so far seen more than 150 properties benefit - householders benefit from ECO funding when they are on low income but not in receipt of benefits.

There have been 45 cavity wall insulations, 34 loft insulation and top ups, and 32 gas boiler upgrades.  Another 62 measures have been installed through other funding schemes - including ‘Help to Heat’.

Now the District Council has widened the eligibility criteria to help even more households – including those in private rented accommodation living either in fuel poverty or on a low income and who are particularly vulnerable to the effects of the cold.

Letters will be delivered throughout the district explaining how people can get involved.  For most people that meet the eligibility criteria, the energy efficiency measures will be free.

‘Warm up Hambleton’ is a joint initiative between the District Council and installation partners, J & J Crump & Son Ltd.  For more information on the scheme contact JJ Crump and Sons on 0800 783 3127 or contact Environmental Health Services Team on 01609 767138.

The Council also has funded schemes for first time gas central heating systems and air source heat pumps. Same eligibility criteria apply.  For more information see: https://www.hambleton.gov.uk/housing/warm-homes?documentId=128&categoryId=2004
